The Clematis Print

We are delighted to introduce our latest collaboration with British-based artist, Julia Langley. Inspired by plants and flowers, Julia uses photographic images sourced from historic nature imagery, wildlife and gardening books to create beautiful floral prints. Julia's vintage 1930's inspired clematis print has been used to re-imagine our 1930’s inspired signature Monique Tea Dress in two stunning new colour ways of blue and green.

The Artist's Way

The original inspiration for Julia Langley's Clematis print was this vintage 1930’s photograph. Langley uses references from books printed during the war and loves the symbolic significance of climbing plants & flowers. This vintage print translates beautifully onto our signature 1930s-inspired Monique Tea dress.

Our textile designers at Suzannah London worked with the original art to create an attractive all-over repeat pattern which was then printed in Italy onto luxury pure silk crepe de chine cloth.

The Monique Tea Dress is a signature Suzannah London silhouette, a pure silk vintage-1930's inspired tea dress. The dress is versatile and wonderfully flattering and can be worn throughout the seasons, looking elegant for autumnal days when styled with slim boots and a jacket, or for events when elevated with beautiful heels and millinery.
